Baby It's Cold Outside!!!

Incredibly cold to be presise. OMG! Just a bit north of us it was -33 this morning. Guess we were lucky! Not so lucky tho when the power went off. It was off for 1 1/2 hours. No heat. It had only got down to 63 degrees here in the house when the power came back on so it was OK. But I was a bit nervous, not knowing for sure when it would be coming back on. And not being able to open the garage door meant not being able to get out to go someplace warmer. But I could have gotten a neighbor to lift it open for me. It's 16' wide and way to heavy for me to lift. But the power came back on and all was well!

I've been missing from the blogging world for a quite some time. Between the Holidays, the sicknesses going around and a million other life stuff I just haven't had the time to post. But I have been reading!

I have been doing some miniatures lately so will try to get some pictures of what I've been working on. As soon as I manage to finish them!

I also just noticed that I've jumped over the 100 follower mark. 100 followers, who would have thought? But this means I should have a give-away! Hummmm let me think on this and I'll be getting back on that!

  1. Do you have both cold and snow? The temperatures seem incredible to me I just can't imagine what it must be like outside the house. I know this sounds incredibly stupid but do you go out when it gets this cold?

  2. Hi Janice! Oh yes we have both cold and lots of snow. At least a foot or two on the ground right now. They are incredibly cold temps....luckily it only dips down this cold a few times in the months of Jan and Feb. Otherwise our norms are 0 - 35 degrees. Life goes on as normal even when it's this cold but you don't linger outside if you don't have to. Exposed skin can get frostbit in less than 30 minutes. So you have to be careful! Now me....I prefer to stay in where it's toasty warm and work on miniatures! LOL! It's fun to learn how others live and how they cope with their climate! No question is ever stupid! But a way for all of us to learn! I loved reading about your travels. So different than what I see here where I live!

  4. Blimey that IS cold. My brother was stranded in Washington DC last night - their flight home to Ireland cancelled. He said in NY you got 18 inches of snow yesterday! Whaow. Love your blog. Best wishes, Carol :)
