Hello Again My Friends!

It has been so incredibly long since I have typed a post! I had thought long and hard whether to close it down, continue to let it sit or start it back up. And I think I'm going to try to put some life back into it! I have been quilting, took up wool applique, still working with my miniatures, can never give that up. We have been doing some traveling since my husband has retired! Busy Busy Busy!

I have a lot of reading to do to catch up with my favorite blogs also! I see some of them have gone by the wayside! So sad!

I shall return, sooner than last time haha!

Hugs

BOYS DINASOUR QUILT

Ok so this is what I've been working on lately! Dinasour quilts for my two grandsons. The oldest is 4 and the youngest is 1. But I'm making them both quilts that will fit a twin size bed. I've made quilts for the two granddaughters ages 6 and 8 also. So this quilt top is done and I need to start the second one. I like to handquilt my quilts once I get the 3 pieces put together. Besides I can't afford to have them done professionally. Altho someday I'd like to do that. But there are so many other things to save for. That is way down the list. So I continue to handquilt them. They don't get done very quickly using that method tho! LOL!

I also have some Christmas gifts I'm working on for my daughters. A few miniature projects in the works too for my miniature swapping group.

Busy busy busy!!!

I hope you're all staying busy as well! keeps us out of trouble!

My daughter and I

For some reason Blogger is giving me a headache. It didn't want me to type until I messed around with some of the settings and then finally it let me. Wonder what is up . Probably mad because I've been gone so long! HA!
Here is a picture of my daughter and I at the rehearsal dinner. We had such a fantastic time at the shower, the rehearsal, my 3 daughters and I and my two granddaughters had a spa day the morning of the wedding. Then the beautiful ceremony and the fun reception! We were all sad when it was over!
I'm hoping with the cooler weather coming I will have more time to blog! We've had such a busy summer I've had limited time on the computer.
But I'm back and hopefully will have some things to blog about and pictures to show!
I don't like to show pictures of myself but I love this one of the two of us. So I thought I would share!

Getting Ready For The Shower!!!

I've been so busy lately. Between getting things ready for a bridal shower for my daughter and doing some spring cleaning I've been pretty much straight out. So much to do. My energy ends up running out long before the day ends.

So here's a few pictures of the bedsprings I bought on Ebay. They were new looking ones and I'd would have rathered they were rusted. But the price was right for these. So I got out my spray paint I spray painted them with primer first and then sprayed a layer of a brown paint and then a brownish colored stone paint that I bought at the $ store. I just love those dollar stores. You can get so many things fro crafting there. So..... My husband looked at them and said "they looked like they're rusted." WooHoo!!! Yeah!!!! That's what I was going for! Thanks honey!

I'm using these bedsprings to hold a cone made from scrapbooking paper that I will be filling with my homemade caramel popcorn! My middle daughters idea because she loves it

I also bought some pint size canning jars at walmart and some bags of small garden stones at the $ store. I put a layer of stone in the bottom of the canning jars. I had some landscaping paper, used to keep the weeds out of the garden....and I cut circles from it to lay over the stones. Now I will be planting some flowers in the canning jars and the little circle of paper will keep the dirt from going down into the stones. At least I hope so! On top of the dirt of the flower I will put some green moss to dress it up. I also painted the lids of the canning jars in the same manner as the bedsprings. Tied a thank you card on the jar with the raffia and we have a sweet gift for the shower guests to take home with them and at the same time decorate the tables!

Don't forget to poke the pictures for a larger loook!

Ebay

I'm trying really hard to find time to go thru all of my craft stuff. Treasures. Supplies. Lots and lots of stuff. I really need to thin things down to just the things I really want to work on. If I haven't learned how to do something or have more stuff than I need, it's going. So check out my auctions on Ebay. There may be something there you can't live without!

http://www.ebay.com/sch/peechtree-minis/m.html?_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

Over the next few months I will continue to add auctions as I go thru things over the summer months. So add me as your favorite and ebay will notify you everytime I add new auctions.

Thank you!

Getting Ready For The Wedding

My middle daughter is getting married this summer. The Bridal Shower is in less than three weeks. So I'm working on getting things made. When the shower is over I'll post pics of how we used some of these things to decorate with. For now I'll just show you what I've been making.

I absolutely loved loved loved the flowers that Carol makes over at The Polka Dot Closet  http://thepolkadotcloset.blogspot.com/. Carol is an awesome lady. So talented and so very helpful. She shares so much with her readers. Giving tutorials and sharing so many secrets of how she does what she does! Most people I've found hold everything close to the chest but not Carol. She shares her how to's and I've learned so much.

I wanted to make these flowers that she was making so that I could incorporate them into the wedding and I was having a heck of a time. I shouted out to Carol and she helped me thru it. With her help I've finally got it worked out.

You really need to talk a gander over to her blog http://thepolkadotcloset.blogspot.com/ and check it out! You'll love it. And be prepared....take a cup of coffee with you or your drink of choice 'cuz you're gonna be there a while!!!!!

So now here are some photos of things I've been making. I found the tutorial for turning a picture frame into a chalkboard and I have that made. I'm going to write a little saying on it for the shower. I also found a tutorial for the hearts and made them into a garland I'll drape using baling twine my husband had out in the garage. If you want any of the tutes let me know and I'll share the links. Don't forget to click on the pictures and look at them enlarged!

.

The little adirondack chairs will be on the top of the wedding cake. She's been looking and looking and couldn't find exactly what she wanted. Well hubby and I were in a store called Herb Philipsons yesterday and I found these. Ya just gotta love all this new technology.....I took a picture with my phone and sent it to her and asked her if these were what she was trying to find....and they were! Gosh back in the day you could never do that. You'd just have to buy them only to find out they weren't what someone wanted. Now just take a pic with the phone and send it to them...instant response! Not sure what we're going to do with them to get them ready for the top of the cake....we'll see! Wouldn't it be cool to have a bride and groom doll sitting in them......gosh where could I get those I wonder? Any ideas?

OK now on to making the garters and some more flowers to put in my two granddaughters, from my oldest daughter, hair as they are the flowergirls. They were in one aunts wedding 2 years ago and now they're in another aunts wedding. And they just love it!
